Subtle Body Overview: Mudra, Mantra, Meditation Practice

  • Essencia Yoga Wellness Center 1026 College Avenue Wheaton, IL, 60187 United States (map)

You are invited to the morning Asana Practice at 9:30am that will assist in preparing you for the full experience of engaging the Subtle Body. We will have a light lunch available to snack on along the way. Vegan hot lunch, vegetables, fruit, nuts and hot tea.

11:30-12:30pm

Chakra Overview - Jeannine will guide the conversation with creative engagement and a power point presentation, to further understand the gift of understanding the layers of awakening that occur with mindful intention and practice. We will practice the integration of these insights with our movements, breath and stillness. Experience the more subtle aspects of yoga that are often overlooked in the predominantly posture-oriented practice of yoga. The overall experience can be taken with you to further stimulate your own awareness in a regular yoga class.

12:45-2pm - Mudras and Meditation Practice to open up the Chakras

We will engage the chakras through movement, meditations and mudras, which are special hand positions, to open the energetic meridians of the body. They have the power to send focused energy to particular chakras, particularly while engaging in pranayama practice.

To enhance the effects of our breath and body connections we will engage with voice and invite the sounds being chanted from Sanskrit letters to resonate in our bodies. While doing this together, we stimulate the vagus nerve that helps to regulate all of our major bodily functions. This will open up places that will enable you to release and detoxify mind, body and spirit.
