Vernal Equinox Celebration

spring yoga.jpg

The fertility of this time, makes way for growth and opportunities for change in our lives and in the world. At this point we are poised between opposite forces, light and dark, receptive and active, unconscious and conscious, inner and outer. These can be united within us so that we are whole and balanced individuals. This gives birth to actions that come from the heart.

We celebrate the changing of the seasons by adopting a blend of traditions from yoga and the many nations represented in our midst.  We see it as an opportune moment for the stage to be set to do some personal work.  It brings us into the moment to see things as they are.  We practice the Yang to burn through any pretense, fear, doubt, denial, etc.  and allow for truth to be seen as it is, without judgement.

Taking this authentic self through the Yin, nourishes all elements that remain and that require honoring and nourishing, observing and celebrating.

This becomes a ceremony we look forward to hold as a time to check-in as an individual and as a community.  What is our life speaking?   How will this be sustained through the coming seasons, and what might we approach diferently.

“We must ensure that we provide education that is not conflict ridden.
You have repeatedly quoted the phrase:
“That tradition…, the tradition of Krishnamacharya…”.
Others say: “Our tradition”,
but Yoga is not this or that tradition, Yoga is Yoga!”
