"I have always had a passion for fiber arts—knitting, crochet, needlepoint, embroidery—but didn’t get into weaving until my hands started bothering me from arthritis. I was looking for something to supplement fine needlework, and someone suggested I try weaving, so I began taking claasses at the Flint Institute of Arts where I met my weaving partner and good friend, Pam Kane."
"Together we started our own business, Two Loonies on a Loom. The name was inspired by the fun we have together weaving and doing shows—we have even been accused of being drunk, but we are just creative and fun-loving ladies who enjoy what we do and each other’s company. Since I moved from Michigan to Wheaton about a year and a half ago, I have found a huge fiber arts community through the Illinois Prairie Weavers Guild and The Fine Line Creative Arts Center, and have expanded my learning to hand-dying fiber and sewing with the fabric I create. I continue to do art shows in Michigan and hope to do more in this area in the future. I am so grateful to Essencia Yoga for allowing me to show my work and inspire others with my passion for weaving."
